When you think of your favorite summer destination—whether it’s the sun-soaked coast of Greece, the rustic charm of the Italian countryside, or the breezy elegance of the Hamptons—you’re likely imagining more than just a place. You're recalling a feeling: calm, refreshed, inspired. The good news? You can bring that same vibe into your home.

Here’s how to translate five stunning summer destinations into interior design inspiration that lasts well beyond your vacation.

1. Croatia’s Central Dalmatian Coast & Islands – Stone Elegance & Adriatic Charm

Based on one of my personal favorite locations from my travels -  Imagine waking up to the golden morning light spilling over centuries-old stone buildings, their pale façades warmed by the sun. The Croatian island of Hvar, nestled in the Central Dalmatian archipelago, is a place where natural textures, soft neutrals, and terracotta tones come together to create a timeless Mediterranean feel. To bring this coastal elegance into your home, opt for stone or plaster walls in warm beige or soft taupe, evoking the historic towns. Accents in sea-glass blues and olive greens—through textiles, ceramics, or artwork—can reflect the hues of the Adriatic and surrounding olive groves. Incorporate aged wood, linen, and wrought iron to mirror the rustic sophistication found in Hvar’s old villas and harbor cafés. Architectural details like stone archways or shuttered windows add authenticity and charm.

Pro Tip: Let natural light flood your space with linen or cotton drapes and keep windows uncluttered—just like the airy interiors found along the Dalmatian coast.

2. 🇮🇹 Tuscany, Italy – Rustic Elegance & Earthy Charm

If you’ve ever strolled through the rolling hills of Tuscany, you’ll know its charm lies in a perfect balance of rustic simplicity and timeless elegance. This region of Italy offers rich inspiration for interiors that are warm and inviting. Think of terracotta floors, rough-hewn wooden beams, and aged stone walls that create a grounding connection to nature. Rich earth tones like olive green, golden ochre, and warm browns can be used in textiles and wall colors to add depth. Open shelving, especially in the kitchen or dining area, allows you to display beautiful ceramics and vintage wine glasses, adding an authentic Tuscan touch. This style invites slow living and thoughtful design—perfect for cozy summer evenings at home.
Pro Tip: Incorporate open shelving in kitchens or dining rooms to display ceramics and vintage wine glasses.

3. 🇲🇦 Marrakech, Morocco – Vibrant Patterns & Bohemian Luxe

Marrakech is a city that stirs the senses, and its design language is just as rich and vivid. Incorporating Moroccan elements into your home allows you to play with bold colors, intricate patterns, and a blend of textures that create a lush, layered aesthetic. Jewel tones like emerald green, sapphire blue, and ruby red make a striking impact, especially when paired with patterned tiles, throw pillows, or rugs. Carved wood furniture, low seating, and decorative poufs add both comfort and flair, while lantern-style lighting casts a warm, enchanting glow in the evenings. This is a look that embraces maximalism in a sophisticated, intentional way—ideal for those who love a global, collected style.

Pro Tip: Mix and match textures—think velvet, suede, and silk—to achieve that lush, layered Moroccan aesthetic.

4. 🇺🇸 The Hamptons, USA – Coastal Cool with a Polished Twist

For a fresh and refined take on summer living, look no further than the Hamptons. This East Coast getaway is known for its clean, breezy interiors that balance coastal charm with a sense of luxury. A color palette of crisp whites and nautical blues sets the tone, often accented with natural materials like seagrass rugs, jute baskets, and rope detailing. Slipcovered sofas and armchairs offer relaxed elegance, while oversized windows and glass doors invite in natural light. Instead of cluttering the space, accessories are kept minimal—think of one or two statement vases, elegant coffee table books, or coastal-themed artwork. The result is a home that feels both welcoming and effortlessly chic.

Pro Tip: Keep accessories minimal and clean to maintain the fresh, upscale beach house feel.

5. 🇲🇽 Tulum, Mexico – Tropical Serenity Meets Eco-Chic

Tulum’s appeal lies in its ability to make the modern feel natural—and the natural feel luxurious. Rooted in sustainability and serenity, this destination offers interior inspiration for those seeking a grounded yet stylish retreat. Think raw materials like warm woods, clay finishes, and woven fibers that bring in organic textures. Imperfection is part of the charm here, whether in hand-crafted ceramics, unfinished walls, or wabi-sabi furniture pieces. Incorporate lush greenery like palms, monstera, or cascading plants to blur the line between indoors and out. Soft, ambient lighting—candles, lanterns, or low-hanging pendant lamps—creates a meditative mood, ideal for winding down at the end of the day. A hammock or hanging chair adds a playful, resort-style touch that encourages relaxation.

Pro Tip: Use soft ambient lighting and candles to channel Tulum’s relaxing, spa-like energy.
